The guideline defines acceptance and reverification tests as well as artifacts for the evaluation of picture-giving optical 3D measuring systems with planar measurement regarding its accuracy. It is valid for optical 3D measuring systems with planar measurement, which works according to the triangulation principle. The described procedures can be used only for measurement of 3D objects in an elementary measuring procedure (""single view""). Systems, which transform several single views by repositioning the sensor and/or the object into an object coordinate system, are covered by this guideline.For the evaluation of the accuracy of the measuring system characteristics are specified. The limit values of these characteristics are specified for the acceptance of the optical 3D measuring system by the manufacturer and for the monitoring by the operator. All characteristics together permit a quantitative evaluation of the measuring system, whereby system- or application-oriented can take different emphasis.
