The guideline describes procedures for the determination of machine capability (MFU) for machines in the screwing technology. The MFU allows the determination of the stability and the reproductibility of the process variable machine. Using these characteristics a statement about machine-conditioned process errors is possible and gives an objective comparison measure about the quality of different machines. The procedure is realized by statistic evaluation of the measured values by screwing tools (short time investigation). It is guaranteed by using the MFU that only suitable screwing tools are used in the screwing process. The guideline refers only to tools, which have in any suitable form a controllable goal size (e.g. torque).
