Due to the ever-increasing demands on flexibility and efficiency of power stations, the requirements for power plant control technology and power plant management systems are increasing and with this, the complexity of the tasks to be solved is rising as well. This standard describes the main methods and procedures of high-level control and attempts to establish general rules for their development, implementation and acceptance. Based on the implementation of classical control mechanisms, described in VDI/VDE 3508 and on practical experience, this standard describes the development, implementation and acceptance of high-level controls in power stations. The standard refers to power plants, but can also be used for other process plants.
