Surface thermometry with mechanically contacted probes
Summary
The standard deals with temperature measurement on surfaces of solids by means of electrical contact thermometers which are brought into mechanical and thus thermal contact with the object to be measured. The mechanical contact between the surface and the contact thermometer is established temporarily by probing or permanently by application/clamping. Measured variables derived by the user from this can also be the core temperature, the medium temperature in a pipe or the undisturbed surface temperature not influenced by the thermometer. The special challenges of measuring surface temperature with contact thermometers in contrast to temperature measurement in fluids are presented and factors influencing static and dynamic measurement deviations are explained. Furthermore, experimental equipment will be presented with which the metrological properties of the surface thermometers can be reproducibly determined. In addition, selected thermometer designs are presented.
