VDI/VDE 3850 Blatt 2:2017-01

The standard defines rules and recommendations for selecting pointing and non-pointing interaction devices placed in stationary use. The design recommendations given relate to the integration possibilities of interaction devices in industrial plants. It supports developers and users of graphical user interfaces in the search for a suitable interaction device and in the integrative design process of technical systems and their controls. The related dialogue design is described in Part 1 and Part 3 of this series of standards. The recommendations apply to environments where the use of the interaction device in addition to possible monitoring tasks is the primary task of the user. For use as a secondary task, for example, in addition to a positioning task, additional requirements apply that are not covered in this standard.
