X-ray optical systems - Monochromator crystals
Summary
This standard refers to X-ray optical systems which are based on the use of crystals used mainly to influence the spectral composition of X-rays. The requirements to monochromator crystals are briefly described as well as the physical principles. The most used monochromator crystals like plane monocrystals, gradient crystals, and mosaic crystals are described as well as one- and two-dimensionally curved crystals. The typical parameters relevant for X-ray optics and the determination of these parameters by measurements are described. The main application fields are X-ray diffractometry and X-ray spectroscopy as well as monochromatise synchrotron radiation. This standard is directed towards users, developers and producers of monochromator crystals.
