It is the objective of this guideline to specify valid procedures for the calibration of measuring devices for electrical quantities considering efficiency aspects and thus to create a uniform and industry-wide basis for the inspection of measuring and test equipment. The present guideline deals with the calibration of test equipment to check electrical safety. It does not claim to completely cover all metrological properties of this equipment which are also of importance for calibration. According to the design of the testing device or its conditions of use, the scope of the calibration may be reduced or extended in agreement with the customer. The standards and rules allowed for in this guideline are given in the bibliography section. For the calibration, attention is to be additionally paid to the manufacturer's specifications for the test equipment.
