The standard supports a uniform product description of torque sensors and allows the consumer a clear assignment of product characteristics and a needs-based selection. It defines parameters that allow an exact description of the properties of torque transducers. These definitions make it possible to create a common language for torque transducers, which allows the comparison of technical data. The common language enables the user the ability to obtain sufficiently detailed information for the selection and proper use of torque transducers. The definitions are based on torque transducers, which operate on the strain gauge (DMS) principle and partly on torque transducer with integrated amplifier electronics.
