The standard applies to untoleranced dimensions as well as to deviations of form and position of rudders and fins of surface ships and submarines of the German Federal Armed Forces. It shall apply to metallic and non-metallic parts/components. This standard contains tolerances for movable parts of rudders and fins, as well as for fixed appendages which form part of the profile section (e. g. fixed guide heads, rudder horns). Additionally, this standard contains tolerances for the position of rudder stocks. If castings are used, the tolerances for such parts/components have to be in line with the standards concerning tolerances for castings.
