This standard is applicable to grade GL-K3 slip stoppers used on vessels at ambient temperatures down to -20 °C. A slip stopper according to this standard consists of a slip stopper hook according to VG 84505, a certain number of common stud links according to VG 84529, an enlarged stud link according to VG 84530, a large end link according to VG 84534 and an end shackle according to VG 84503. They are a specified type of chain stoppers and used to fasten stud link anchor chain cables VG 84510 on deck, according to VG 84510. Using slip stoppers relieves the load on the capstan during anchoring.
