VG 84539:2008-12

This standard applies to chain connectors which are mainly used on board vessels of Deutsche Marine (German Navy). They are components of anchor chain cables as specified in VG 84510. They are arranged between the chain outboard shot as specified in VG 84512 and of the first shot of chain cable as specified in VG 84501. They are used to disconnect connector from the first chain cable shot to give the possibility for towing manoeuvres with the towing equipment according to VG 84543-1. Chain connectors in accordance with this standard are not suitable for passing the cable lifters e. g. according to DIN 84525 of capstans and windlasses.
