This standard applies to simple eccentrically mounted, soft-sealing butterfly valves with a continuous butterfly valve stem, which are used on watercraft. Type A valves are intended for installation in pipe assemblies and Type B valves are intended for outboard fittings. This valves are to be used in pipe assemblies for seawater, fuel F-75, aircraft fuel F-44, lubricating oil, hot water and fresh cooling water with and without additives at operating temperatures up to 120 °C.
