This standard is applicable to upholstery sets for sofa-berths and sofas are used on vessels of the Deutsche Marine (German Navy), excluding submarines. Submarines are not included in the scope of this standard due to their particular space conditions. However, since the structure of upholsteries for submarines should generally coincide with that according to this standard, reference can be made to this standard in the according documents, e. g. dimensioned sketches with the addition: Structure in accordance with VG 85092.
