This standard is applicable to penetrations for tank and bulkhead installation with PN up 40(4,0 MPa equates to 40 bar) for pressure watertight electric cables, which are preferably used for submarine vessels. A penetration according to this standard consists of a cable gland according to VG 85538 and an appropriate weld-in adapter for penetrations for pressure hull installation.
