Summary
This standard applies to all geared transmissions (hereinafter called to as gearbox), which are used to transmit the drive power to the propulsion system. In the case of gearboxes from standard programs, which arise from order neutral production (e. g. make-to-stock production) the scope of the quality assurance is to be agreed separately. For special constructions of transmission, this standard shall be applied as appropriate.
