VG 85741-2:2014-12

This generic standard applies in connection with the relevant detail standard (VG 85741-3 and VG 85741-4) to steering gears for vessels. The detail standard specifies the general requirements and provisions. It contains details on technical requirements and test conditions that are invariable, i.e. properties and designation, that are applicable to the given surface vessels and/or submarines, as well as general implementation provisions, questions relating to obligation, patent rights, etc. The detail standard specifies the special technical requirements and the tests for the respective vessels. Where any specifications given in the detail standard deviate from those of the generic standard, the specifications of the detail standard apply.
