Summary
This standard shall apply to systems and equipment of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). The standard shall ensure that all sub-program steps specified in VG 95374-2 referring to this standard are implemented in accordance with uniform procedures. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) as defined in this standard includes protection against electromagnetic pulse (EMP), atmospheric lightning, and electrostatic discharge (ESD). EMP is used as a generic term for electromagnetic pulses such as nuclear electromagnetic pulse (NEMP), and lightning electromagnetic pulse (LEMP); however, it does not refer to the direct lightning stroke.
