This standard applies to casings to house electrical devices, such as switches, sockets and connection terminals. Casings according to this standard are mountable side by side. This standard applies to casings used indoors and outdoors on vessels of the Deutsche Marine (German Navy). The casings according to this standard can be used for alternating voltage not higher than 1 kV or for direct voltage not higher than 1,5 kV.
