VG 95964-5:2009-11

This standard is applicable to straight cylindrical and cylindrical angular expansion joints (e. g. 90° or 130° expansion joints) used on surface vessels and submarine vessels. It is applicable to the use of expansion joints in assemblies for oil and fuels up to PN 10 and in assemblies for seawater without any additives based on mineral oil, depending on the flanges used, up to PN 16, hereinafter referred to in the text as expansion joints. Due to the lower nominal pressure and modified construction, expansion joints according to this standard are softer than expansion joints according to VG 95964 3; in conjunction with appropriate inlays, this leads to expansion joints with more favourable values as regards sound engineering. This standard does not apply to expansion joints in aircrafts.
