Summary
Part 450 of the International Standard IEC 61162 specifies interface requirements for high speed communications between shipboard navigation and radiocommunication equipment . This standard contains the physical and electrical characteristics as well as the protocol and data format requirements for the distribution of data across Ethernet-based LANs. Furthermore it deals with the distribution of sensor information and the bidirectional exchange of data, for example for distribution and acknowledgement or forwarding alerts.
Notes
A transition period, as set out in DIN EN 61162-450/A1 (2016-11) and DIN EN IEC 61162-450 (2019-02), exists until 2021-06-08.
