Flanged holes - Flange forming.

Summary

Flanged holes are solid collars produced by plunging starting from a pilot hole. They can be produced in any shape desired as bearing, fixturing or spacing elements not only on flat and on formed metal sheets but also on pipes. Flanged holes may also be threaded for screws. The guideline describes the procedures flange forming by plunging, spinning and flange forming using high internal pressure. The influencing parameters and limits of these procedures are also subject of the guideline. The guideline deals with methods of creating flanged holes with a circular collar shape.
