VDI 3469 Blatt 4:2017-02

The standard concerns the production and processing of all types of brake and clutch linings whose function is to synchronise different movements within a given time by means of friction and applies only in conjunction with VDI 3469 Part 1. The main products are disc and drum brake linings for cars, trucks, buses/coaches, agricultural and rail vehicles and for industrial brakes in machines used in the materials handling, drive engineering, electrical engineering, machining and moulding industries as well as clutch linings for the same fields of application, furthermore, industrial components for fibre-reinforced bushings, bearings, blocks, plates, guideways etc. The description of technology covers cold and hot-air pressing of prefabricated dry and wet mixtures, backing plate preparation, a rolling of continuous brake brand and other procedures. The measures for dust reduction for production, assembling and disassembly of friction linings are judged critically. VDI 3469 Part 1 contains all the information common to all sectors of industry, in respect of technology, reducing of emissions, measurement methods, so that the standard must be applied in conjunction with VDI 3469 Part 1.
