The standard describes methods for generating test Aerosols using combustion processes and other thermal reactions. These test aerosols can be used to determine the separation or pass-through functions of collecting or separating systems (e.g. filters). Further possible applications are the provision of test materials and standardised samples for further analyses. These methods have a multitude of applications in science and technology.
