Environmental meteorology - Emissions of gases, odours and dusts from diffusive sources - Fundamentals
Summary
In contrast to defined sources, diffuse emissions mostly occur without exhaust gas flows. In addition, no limitations of mass concentrations in the exhaust gas flows can be defined. Therefore, to limit diffuse emissions only structural and operational measures can be performed. However, a reduction of emissions of gases, odours, and dusts from diffuse sources could not be achieved to the same extent as for defined sources. The standard outlines the origins and the characteristics of emissions of gases, odours, and dusts from diffuse sources, and represents possibilities how these emissions can be quantified. The standard is helpful for experts in the field of air quality, for plant managers, and administrative bodies.
