In the area of conflict between the automotive industry, the remanufacturing companies and end customers, it is necessary to define the term 'remanufactured engine'. The guideline specifies terms and lays down criteria for the qualitative description of remanufactured engines. With the defined quality levels as well as the described quality criteria, the guideline provides a basis for remanufacturing company. The guideline is intended to support producers, experts, consumer organisations, lawyers and end customers in specialized issues. Liability issues are not covered in this guideline.
