Summary
In the area of conflict between the automotive industry, the remanufacturing companies and end customers, it is necessary to define the term 'remanufactured engine'. The standard specifies terms and lays down criteria for the qualitative description of remanufactured engines. With the defined quality levels as well as the described quality criteria, the standard provides a basis for remanufacturing company. The standard is intended to support producers, experts, consumer organisations, lawyers and end customers in specialised issues. Liability issues are not covered in this standard.
