This guideline describes a procedure for the evaluation of the surface roughness of the active area of the tooth flanks and tooth root rounding. It is taken into account only the method of roughness measuremnt using stylus-type instruments. It describes the relevant roughness parameters and measuring methods for determining the appropriate parameters. Additional the monitoring of measuring devices, as well as the evaluation of deviations is described.
