Summary
This standard describes a procedure for evaluating the surface roughness of the active area of tooth flanks and the tooth fillet. It covers only the profile method which uses stylus-type instruments. It describes the relevant roughness parameters and measuring methods for determining parameters of interest. In addition, the standard deals with monitoring measuring devices as well as the evaluation of deviations.
