The standard describes the procedures and measurement standards used for checking the signal transmission chain of form measuring instruments. Determination of the sensitivity of the signal transmission chain, taking into account the special dynamic conditions of form measuring tools, is a fundamental task in ensuring the comparability and traceability of measurements from form measurements. This checking is part of the metrological confirmation of the measuring system. It is used not only for determining the amount of deviation in the chain of signal transmission but also for calibrating the form measuring system. The procedure and the measurement standards used are applicable to other measuring instruments, such as coordinate measuring machines, if they are used for form measurements.
