Methods for monitoring the stability of form measuring systems are described in this guideline. The monitoring of the stability is necessary to prove and assure the qualifcation for the measurement process. The stability monitoring comprises the performance of scheduled measurements at the place of installation for proving the metrological features within the given limits. The documentation of the measurements in control charts is the representation of metrological features over a period and allows, if necessary, a directed action to maintain these features. The action limits can be drived from the acceptance inspection.
