The standard defines parameters and their symbols for the measurement of humidity. Through this, various existing definitions in this area are unified and a common basis is provided. The application of the standard enables a uniform and comparable description of humidity sensors. The user is thus enabled, better to assess the various measuring methods of humidity and to select a suitable measurement procedures for his own measurement tasks.
